FAQ

Do I need to grind, apply couplant, or patch the bolt surface before measuring?

No. The UFT-Q100 uses electromagnetic ultrasonic measurement, so no grinding, couplant, or patching is required. Simply enter the bolt specifications and start measuring — each bolt takes only 4–10 seconds.

Can it measure bolts that are already in service, without knowing their original length?

Yes. The UFT-Q100 uses the dual-wave method (transverse and longitudinal waves), which enables direct measurement of the absolute axial force of in-service bolts without requiring the bolt's initial length — ideal for flange bolt inspection in wind power, oil & gas, petrochemical, nuclear power, and hydrogen energy applications.

How is measurement accuracy ensured, and can results be exported for reporting?

INSIZE offers a calibration service — send bolt samples in, and once calibration is complete, load the calibration file into the device for accurate axial force measurement (±5% after precise calibration). The device also stores calibration data for different bolt grades, automatically saves measurement results, and exports reports in Excel, radar chart, and statistical chart formats.
